Dear MUASD Family,
We are writing to inform you of a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, the software vendor that provides our Student Information System (SIS).
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, PowerSchool notified our leadership team of an incident involving unauthorized access to certain customer data within their SIS. Unfortunately, they have confirmed that this incident includes information belonging to some of MUASD’s families and educators.
According to PowerSchool, the affected data primarily includes parent and student contact information, such as names and addresses. PowerSchool is working with urgency to complete their investigation and ensure the security of their systems.
Please know that protecting our students’ and families’ information is something we take very seriously. PowerSchool has assured us that they are taking appropriate steps to address the situation, and we are committed to working closely with them to provide any necessary updates.
*More information and resources, including guidance for affected families, will be shared as it becomes available. To assist you further, PowerSchool has provided a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) resource, which can be accessed using the link below*:
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we address this matter.
